HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS: Mosaic

Etsy is a vast wasteland of interesting handmade home creations. Admittedly, when I started looking for mirrors on Etsy, I quickly became fatigued. It's WAY easier to find jewelry on Etsy, and I'm not even sure why...maybe it's easier to sift out the good from the crap when it's earrings and bracelets?

Then I found crooked mosiacs...and fell in love! It's super unique, and makes such a room statement. I needed something colorful for my why-are-these-walls-so-white bedroom, and this mirror does the trick. Shipping was uber fast, and the artist is responsive and easy to deal with (always a plus!)

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS: Don Drapery

My room is all about yellows and browns, so these curtains are a great find for a room in that color scheme.

What I love about these drapes is that they are brown, but they aren't a gloomy brown. Putting these in your bedroom won't change the vibe or the energy...it will make it brighter! The interplay of the bright yellow on the dark brown ensures that they will be anything but gloomy. Think about how well these curtains match SUNLIGHT!

Also, it's awfully hard to find drapes in Anthropologie for this price, so hooray for sales!

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS: Geeky Chic-y

Hey there fashionistas...I'm in the process of decorating an apartment!

While I usually bring you fashion deals, once a day I'll be bringing you home furnishing deals, until my sister can take over the job in August!

For my first home furnishing, I present to you...this decorative Rubik cube! The usual Rubik cube colors are way too harsh for most home settings. The designer here has cleverly re-tooled the cube to account for some beautiful fabrics that are a complement to any living room! Plus, leaving a Rubik cube out is not only a great conversation starter for when you have guests, but its inevitable that lots of people will want to play with it.
