I've been looking for favors that make your guests feel welcomed and thanked but don't end up in a junk drawer, landfill, or recycling bin. The flower/plant wedding favor trend has been around for a while and I love the little seed favors above.

You can choose from a number of different types of seeds (flowers, herbs, etc) and you get 100 of them along with boxes, ribbon, and an insert card. Some assembly required but it feels worth it for some inexpensive, eco-friendly, useful favors.

Wedding favors are a unique oportunity to make a donation to your charity of choice in honor of your guests. You can make a donation and purchase some "donation favor" cards to put at each guests' seat to let them know what cause is close to your heart.

I know I'd rather know that money was donated in my honor than receive some sugared almonds or a heart-shaped candlestick holder. Some charities will even send you the donation chards for free with your donation.

As promised, here is a little tidbit from the Illegal Wedding Fair that I attended this past Sunday. It was a fun (and boozy) event where many local wedding vendors showcased what they could offer.

The tin of posies above was a favor from poppies & posies, a New York based boutique floral and events firm. This would make a great, eco-friendly favor for your guests. Inside are seeds for poppies and/or posies that guests can then plant and have a living reminder of what a great time they had at your wedding.

These tins are pretty easy to make, you just need seeds, a small tin, ribbons, and buttons.

I don't know about you, but I find it hard to dance in high-heels, especially 3 hours into dancing. Here is a solution for that problem for you and your guests:

Set out a basket of flip-flops in various sizes for your guests to use as "dancing shoes" which they can also take home as favors.

You can go pricey with this and have the flip-flops custom printed with your wedding date and names, or you can buy some cheapies from Old Navy and, if you want a personalized touch, tie the pairs together with a personalized ribbon displaying your wedding deets.

I have been looking for some cute, summery wedding favors and these little bud vases by LamaWorks are just perfect. LamaWorks makes custom wedding favors (and table numbers) and 5% of the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

All of her orders are custom so you can choose from different colors and styles. Custom ordering means I can't give you a per-unit price but one of her most recent orders for 57 bud vase favors sold for $65.00. Cute custom favors for less than $2 each? Not bad at all.
