HOMEY HONEY: Hardly Vain at All

I love having everything on my dresser organized, or at least I try too. This vanity tray will assist in doing so. I couldn't pass this up. I love the lace look to it as well as the price. Can't beat that for organization.

Going In Circles

I wish The Limited would have a picture of their jewelry with an actual shirt! It's just adds so much more to the look than seeing it on a naked mannequin!
One thing that drew me to this necklace in particular is the center circle. It's not just your average long circle necklace...there is a center focal point!

It's hard for women to swing a bowtie, but it's not so hard to rock a bowtie necklace!
This is definitely a piece of jewelry to have run with. Wear it with a white t-shirt and a pair of black suspenders for a nod to the turn o the century newsboy look (you MAY be able to pair a hat with it, but just make sure you don't go overboard!)

Only forty-five dollars for a funky silver ring is pretty darn good!
Unlike a lot of other statement rings, you can wear this one everyday (because what doesn't go with silver?) Also, mark my words, mixed metals trend is creeping in, and it's on its way. Great way to do it is a silver ring and a gold necklace!

Daily Etsy Spotlight

I don't normally go for hippie-esque jewelry, but there is something so artistic and creative about these, I couldn't resist. I love anything brass and I am a sucker for geometric shapes, so I guess it's no surprise why I like this, but the sun pendant is what I love most! It ties it all together. It's nice to see someone chose some items to make their jewelry that the entire world isn't using right now.

The Skeleton Key To My Heart

Readers of this blog are no stranger to my obsessive love of skeleton keys. When they are incorporated in jewelry in unique ways, I start dreaming about these pieces. I create outfits around them even though I don't actually own them yet!
You can imagine my excitement and joy when I saw this necklace on someone, only to find out that the designer is none other than my extremely fashionable friend, Karen Ko! Karen left her previously career to be a jewelry designer, and one look at her website lets you know she made the absolutely right choice! Karen's also a good person, and so while this necklace is on the high-end of prices for jewelry, it's so perfect I could not resist featuring it. This is definitely worth the money.

The "honeycomb" design is hot right now, but I haven't really seen it in a narrow diamond shape! I also haven't seen the combs in such a delicate flower shape. Half of what it takes to make good jewelry is knowing what shapes will work in a design, and this designer clearly has the knack!

It's a return to basics in today's Daily Etsy Spotlight!
I so often stress this to you, and it's advice I don't take enough myself: you can never have too much basic jewelry! I can't tell you how many times I've just wanted a beaded stud earring in a certain color, but all I see is tons of chandelier earrings and funky shapes, etc. These earrings above will match almost anything. They're inexpensive and classic.
This is an especially good alternative to pearls, if you're not a pearl person. It has that pearl essence but with a pop of light pink color!

FRUGAL FIANCÉE: You're On Sapphire.
Man that is a big rock!Kate Middelton is not the first to don a sapphire engagement ring, in fact she's not even the first to don HER sapphire engagement ring, and this once-old trend is new again as many brides-to-be are choosing not to have a diamond solitaire as their engagement ring.
I am totally biased because I have a sapphire engagement ring and I had it before Kate sparked the whole new rage. I love that it is (was?) more individual and reflects my personality better than a diamond would. If you want to rock a gemstone, sapphire is a great way to go and will be significantly cheaper than a diamond of equal size and quality, but can still be elegant.

While I normally posted vestique dresses, they have a nice little jewelry section that showcases a couple of really cute items! Like these black and gold earrings. It's a very sophisticated accessory, but because it's a flower there is a bit of playfulness to it. These kinds of accessories are the best ones to wear to either work, or a stuffy formal event you don't want to go to and you want to shake things up (you know what I'm talking about!)

Doesn't this look like something you'd find in the Etsy vintage jewelry section?
If I were styling this bracelet, I would put it with a long black or white dress that had skinny straps and a plunging neckline, and then find a long set of beats (or multiple chunky beads) and pair them together, so that the necklace and the bracelet shine on an otherwise plain canvas.
