This is less of a "Designer Alert" and more of a "In My Dreams" posting, as I don't think I could justify $1200 for a white blazer, even if it is half-off. But maybe a Jax of the future would be able to? It's nice to dream...
For what it's worth, this is the nicest white blazer I've ever seen. I like it just as much now as when I saw it go down the runway.

I looked in my dresser yesterday and found 4 pairs of American Apparel black shiny leggings. 4! I need to buy tunics to keep up with this growing legging population!
Flowing sleeves and lace make for a super delicate look for any diva. Pair with pearls for that extra lady oomph.

It's been quite a while since I posted anything related to dragonflies, and since I'm obsessed with them, it's only because I haven't really found any dragonfly jewelry that was worth posting. But these earrings are totally worth it! I have never seen dragonfly earrings like this, sparkly!

I bought this belt many years ago, and it is now basically destroyed and I have been looking for a replacement, so you can imagine my joy to find THE EXACT SAME BELT!
It's a beautiful, rich brown, and the weaving is very well done. I have always gotten a million compliments on it, and almost everyone thinks it came from J. Crew or Banana (but it didn't!)

Messenger bags that combine sturdy design with manly good looks are usually the best sellers. While this one was initially priced a tad bit too high, it's now down to a price that's more than palatable for an investment such as this.

The 60's ushered in the era of the ubiquitous babydoll dress. Something about the girly and somewhat conservative styling of vintage babydoll dresses balances the short flirty length for a perfect fusion of sexy and sweet. I especially like the styles with long sleeves! Perfect for winter layering. Or just for being demure all year long...
Vintage Pale Pink 60s Babydoll Dress
I love this dress. And the model's style. And that hat!

Again, cute style. How great would it be to wear this dress with leggings and boots? So great! Check out her whole store- she has lots of great stuff and great ideas of how to style it!
If you were shopping in a Forever 21, you'd almost never buy this shirt. It'd probably be all wrinkled and in a pile But now it looks so beautiful and nice and new! I love the puffed sleeves and the front pleating. The soft pink color will also work on a variety of tones.

Hey small frame ladies, wear this shirt and think of spring! Or if you're in LA, wear it now for everyone in the east who can't take off their parka!
The green strip and back cut-out adds a bit of classy sexiness to this beautiful top. Depending on your workplace dress-code, you might be able to stick this under a cardigan!

For years, I was all about silver. I wouldn't wear any gold jewelry (in fact, I hated it.) Although now I'm open to more than one metal, this necklace made my 14-year old self smile. Silver is shiny and beautiful and reflective! It always looks elegant, and elevates your entire ensemble. Silver also works best with modern designs and shapes, and this circle cluster is definitely on the modern side.

It's Friday! Which means...IT'S T-SHIRT TIIIIIIIIIIIIME!
No, I've never been there, but I love this shirt! I had a shirt that had a very very similar pattern on it that said "Honolulu" on it when I was growing up, so I feel a nostalgic love for this particular deisgn.

I'm feeling a flats kick coming on...
Shoes with bows on them are for the days you wake up feeling extra girly. Best paired with bright ribbons in your hair, and maybe a pair of black patterned tights. Don't be afraid to wear a darker stocking with a light shoe, the result is surprisingly delightful!

I remember when I was in 6th and 7th grade, I tried the hippie trend. Flower in my hair, a piece of string across my head (I don't understand how this seemed normal to me) and of course, the famous wide leg pants from the 60's and 70's. No one caught on to my retro-style back in the 6th grade, but apparently wide leg jeans are back now!
I love wide leg jeans. They are comfortable and so chic. You can wear them with pumps, flats, or booties.
Both pairs above are from 7 for all mankind. The Georgia Jean, available at Neiman Marcus, is a great choice, but a pricey one at $189.00.
For an affordable alternative, I recommend this one:
Belle Flare Jean, Victoria's Secret Online, $69.50
I perpetually run late, which means my morning make-up routine sometimes gets the boot. It’s not my favorite ritual to sacrifice, but if this becomes the case, I make a split second decision and apply at least one product in the realm of cheeks, lips or eyes. The winning product is almost always mascara. With just the swipe of a mascara wand, you can make your eyes look brighter with little to no effort or time spent.
A great mascara to accomplish this goal is the L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara. The wand is perfect for separating lashes without clumping and it contains a mechanism to make sure you don’t get too much product on the wand. With the reasonable price and minimal effort it takes to apply, you can be sure this mascara will be your beauty routine timesaver.

You can't really see the pattern on this shirt from the photo I have above, so I urge you to click through and look and take a look. It's am amazing square geometrical pattern.
One other feature that makes this shirt rock is two buttons on either side that pull the shirt slightly back and prevent it from just hanging. Although I know a lot of you like stuff that just hangs, an equal number want something that provides some shape definition, so those buttons accomplish what is not often accomplished on a loose silk shirt.

Having trouble justifying a designer wallet at $250.00? What about a wallet that's also a bag at $175.00???
I know sometimes it's hard to spend a decent chunk of change on a one-note clothing item, so Tory Burch is smart to turn a wallet into a cross-body bag, too. The shiny navy is a good match for anything silver or beige, and it can be worn year round (yay more value!)

You all know I love the feel and the cut of the levi's five-pocket jean leggings, but this particular pair has a stitching that has to be brought to your attention! The light black wash with the white stitching makes for a clean-cut, but pretty, style of jeans.
Another great thing about jean leggings, if you're not already on board with the trend, is that they don't bunch up in your boots. And since boots are in, this is something to think about.

I just started going to the gym again (it's time for the Holiday weight to come off!) When I get to work and take off my comfy snow boots, my feet dread the idea of putting on a pair of heels. This morning they begged me to buy flats, "please!", they said, "we are in pain!!!"
Ok feet, you win. These are so cute and perfect for work, I can't resist. Now you will be fashionable and comfy as I slowly build up my endurance to gym-induced pain.

Guess what? Yep, it snowed again in New York. And this morning, I had to shovel a 12 passenger van out of a foot and a half of snow. What did I notice while doing all that shoveling? That men wore sneakers to do this. SNEAKERS!
Boys, buy yourself some snow boots! It's January and it's snowing almost every day. At least let your feet be dry, warm and happy as you shovel out the snow!

I am absolutely crazy for storage, and I think I buy more storage pieces than anything else. This storage combo from Ikea also doubles as a TV stand. This is perfect for an apartment where space is an issue. Just pop your TV on top and the accessories in the storage space underneath. I personally love it because my TV sits on top and my wii and accessories are stored in the unit. I can close the door to hide what would be clutter. This is only sold in Ikea stores, not online.

Sexy slips are as comfy as lingerie gets, and this satin and lace camidoll by blush is such a great find! The color is really unique, and the lace detailing is that perfect mix of sexy/girly. The stretch satin will hug your curves in all the right places, with a little cut out in the back for that extra hint of skin.

If you (like me) have rejected one-shoulder dresses in the past, give this one a second look. The bottom is slanted in the same direction as the one-shoulder, which gives an asymmetry that most one-shoulder dresses don't have. This adds to the flow and helps you look your best.
The shoulder embellishment is also worthy of a designer dress. In fact, this LOOKS like a designer dress (another reason to pluck your $44.99 down! )

I know half of you are probably thinking "Jax, there is no way I would ever spend $400 on a pair of silver glitter booties." And the other half of you are actually considering this.
And so illustrates the divide between "glitter" people and non-glitter people. Glitter people are willing to make the investment, knowing they are going to get a ton of mileage out of these boots. You also won't ever find a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti boots for $395.00. Just sayin'...

My my my...I've been posting a lot of work clothes this week! I've just been finding deals that are too good not to share with you!
Red can be worn at work if its done right. This wool burgundy sheath dress is the perfect way to bring a color pop to the blah hallways of your office. Throw a collared shirt underneath, or a cardigan on top, for a less formal look.

My favorite "classy" non-designer handbag happens to be a glossy embossed fake-crocodile tote. So to see Forever 21 FINALLY jump on this style bandwagon really warms my heart.
Take a good look at this bag. Would anyone know you got it from Forever 21? Nope. It looks like bags they sell in Macy's and Bloomies. You will get compliments up the wazoo, I guarantee it!

I see the writing on the wall. With maxi dresses and lace up brown boots making a big return for winter, you can bet that folky accessories will be hot for your summer wardrobe.
I am a sucker for anything yellow and blue (my room is yellow based, and I constantly have to resist the urge to put in blue accents), so these earrings hooked me on first sight. All of this designer's stuff is awesome though, check it out (especially if you like color and what I would call "americana.")

Every guy should own a skinny tie (and this one isn't even that skinny!) And if you're uneasy with the trend, then buy a conservative one, like the one featured above. I generally judge what is "conservative" if I would see Jack Donaughy wearing it. Yes, a fictional character from 30 Rock, this is how I judge what is "conservative."

This sexy plunge bra is perfect for those with an ample bust line. The vibrant print and lace trim make it a fun Valentine's Day number. And with tailored cups and a mesh back, you'll feel certain everything will stay in place.
I have a dress in a very similar pattern to this one, except that my current one is faded, old and generally is no longer appropriate for wearing out. As it was, it was handed down to me by my best friend, so I got another 4 or 5 good years out of it!
So fair warning when I say at least half of my immense love for this dress comes from the pattern alone! A downward facing v is a very flattering pattern, as it elongates you and makes your waist look SMALLER!

Some things at first sight, you just say "whaaaaaat?" That's how I was with this dress. Oversized t-shirt dress you say? Sounds comfy...too comfy! Too comfy = less stylish right?
If you just wear this dress as is and let it hang, you are missing an opportunity. What needs to be done to make this baby cute? (I'm working with the ivory here.)
1) A belt. STAT. Cinch that waist, give yourself some definition!
2) Roll those sleeves up to your bicep. Let your beautiful arms show!
3) Get a slip. Don't want to show anything you don't mean to!
4) Choose an amazing pair of colored or patterned tights. Think burgandy or navy.
5) Pair it with a vintage bowler hat.
Who said comfortable can't be stylish? This dress proves that wrong.

Even though you aren't going to be holding it on your walk down the aisle, you still might want a purse on your wedding day for tissues, lipstick, bobbypins, and whatnots and I love the clutch above if you are having a romantic wedding. Also, its a pretty inexpensive way to add some flair to your style.

The simplicity of this dress REALLY grew on me. It's plain, but perfect in its plainness.
It's one big detail - the knotted shoulder strap - is what removes it from the realm of every-day sun dress. This color is so good for someone with darker skin tones and also redheads.

Do you go to the gym like crazy so you can wear dresses like the one featured above? Well girl, I applaud you. And you deserve it if you're putting in all that work! This ridiculously sexy dress is going to get you noticed wherever you go (plunging necklines have a tendency to do that.)
I think this is a good step for Victoria's Secret. So often I feel that their dresses are non-sexy, a purposeful effort to separate their lingerie and clothing lines. But really...you go to Victoria's Secret for the sexy, so it's nice to see that reflected in their dresses!

Talk about needing to move merchandise! I'm sure this sweater was hot hot hot during Christmas, and yet now there are only mediums left, and the price is more than right!
It's snowing again today, you're definitely going to have lots more time to wear this sweater, and fair isle doesn't go out of style. This is a classic buy for a fab price.
