FASHION DEAL DIVA: Sock Shortage

With all this snow and constant boot wearing, I found that I was running out of clean socks at a rapid clip!  When I went to Target to do a return this past weekend, I thought....yes, buy socks at Target!

I couldn't be happier with my six-pack of white merona crew socks.  I've already gone through three pairs.  They are comfy and cute and I'm totally going to nuke them with bleach in the washer to keep them nice and white.

COMFY COQUETTE: Lacey Foot Petals

I'm 3 parties into the holiday season and totally lamenting my choice of go-to party shoe. Not ready to give up on my favorite 3.5-inch patent peeps, I came across these super cute foot petals and I can't wait to give them a whirl!

Most foot petals can be pretty blah -- they're supposed to feel good and remain well hidden, right? But inevitably you kick off your heels at the end of the night, only to be greeted by two ugly pads stuck in the bottom of your shoes.

These limited edition foot petals are the perfect marriage of form and function, guaranteed to help your night last longer, while keeping those party shoes looking sharp between parties.

COMFY COQUETTE: Socks that don't fall flat

As much as I hate to admit it, you can't wear ballet flats in the winter without wearing socks or tights. And I personally hate the look of flats without a peak of toe cleavage. So, rather than throw my flats out the window for 3+ months I did what every Comfy Coquette would do and went on the hunt for the perfect trouser sock.

What I especially love about this set by Merona at Target are the 3 textured pairs in nude and brown. The opacity + texture of these three show just the right amount of skin, which allows your flats to stand out, while still ensuring a hint of warmth on cold days. The fit is really nice and tight all the way around as well, so the socks stay up all day and don't create bunching around the toe.

The solid pairs are perfect for boots or oxfords, so at $9 a pack you're getting real bang for your buck (and your shoe closet).

I'm a sucker for argyle. Seriously, I went to J. Crew's website to start my Christmas shopping for my boyfriend, and I found these cute socks and fell in love. I guess I just don't see a lot of gray and blue argyle, and my FAVORITE sweater is gray and blue argyle, so I got excited (probably too excited over a pair of socks!)

Men, did you think I'd leave you out of the sock fun???

The stylish/patterned sock trend is definitely not exclusive to women. You like beer, right? I promise that you'll like it as much as when it's on your socks!

A note for my ladies: This is also the perfect gift for the beer loving man in your life.

FASHION DEAL DIVA: Daily Etsy Spotlight

Ironically, just last week, I was writing about how angry I was that the price of "cool" socks had gone up. And now in this post, I'm telling you to buy a $39.00 pair of socks. Jaxie Jaxie Jaxie....isn't that hypocritical?

I'm going to say no, it's not. It's one thing to charge $14.00 for a pair of blah socks that come off an assembly line. It's quite another to buy a hand-knit, one of a kind pair of socks off of Etsy! I can't stop looking at this pair. I'm in love! I love the colors. I love the pattern! I used to knit, and I can appreciate the time and care that went into these socks. Definitely a worthy purchase.

FASHION DEAL DIVA: A Bright Deal

All of a sudden, socks are getting expensive. The minute socks become an "in" item, suddenly a pair is running at $8.00 if you want a fun color or pattern. I understand paying something in the neighborhood of $10.00 for a unique pattern or style, but for solid colors, I just have to say (and pardon my language)...wtf???

Thanks to American Apparel, I can get three pairs of bright, fun colored socks in one pack for $12.50. They have the same pack in just white and black if you are feeling less adventurous.

I can't tell you how much I hate it when I see a guy with pants and shoes that are matched, but socks that are WAY off. You matched the pants and shoes, so I know you can match stuff. Did you just stop caring when it came to the socks?

Men need to invest in a wide array of sock colors, so that you can adequately match you socks to your ensemble. You know a brown sock shouldn't go with black pants, and you know a black sock shouldn't go with khakis! So let's start to fix the problem with this multi-tone three-pack.

Party socks! Like a party on your feet! A colorful confetti explosion of awesome.

I'd wear these socks with a mini, but let's just say that's not your style. Let's say you only hide your socks under your pants. Don't you want them to look super cute when they peak out when you sit down? Don't you want folks to say "wow, that girl has some cute socks!"???

The No-Pants Dance

On Monday, the Vintage Vixen posted a ton of riding boots. All those boots made me want to find cute socks to match!!!

I am a big fan of mini skirts with boots and socks that cover some of your thigh. As a hater of pants generally (think about it...you don't see a lot of pants on here, do you???), the tall socks give the warming effect of pants without my ass looking like its the size of Minnesota! These stripe ones are particularly cute (and they look soft!)

Sock It To Me!

Break out those Mary Janes...its time to wear them with socks!

The key to wearing a patterned sock successfully with an outfit is to let the sock shine. Go with the color scheme it presents. For example, with this sock, stay with creams, browns, tans, and soft pinks. These socks are also screaming to be paired with corduroy, so the pink element might go best there.
