St. Patrick's Day Fashion: The Do's And Don'ts!

I know this may be a little late, as you are probably already dressed for the day in your appropriately green-for-St. Patrick's-Day garb, but I felt it was important to go through some of the do's (and don'ts!) of wearing green on St. Patrick's Day.

The most important rule here is that you don't need to go nuts. A few green items, a few pops of Irish color, and you will be good to go!

Here are a few simple rules to follow:

1. If you are wearing something green, DO NOT WEAR SOMETHING RED. Is your handbag red? Switch it! You want to look like St. Patrick's day, not Christmas.

2. Pick one "head" accent that is green and stick with it. A green ribbon or barrette for your hair. Green emerald stud earrings. A green necklace. Any ONE item is fine. Just don't put them all together!

3. Wear an item of green clothing that matches your skin tone. If you are a blond, don't wear olive. You get my drift? (Red-heads, this is your day, everything green looks good on you!)

4. I find that green eyeshadow on St. Patrick's day is a nice way to give a beauty nod to the holiday.

Also, I know there is a tendency to drink a ton on St. Patricks day, but remember, there is nothing stylish about being sloshed, so stay cute and don't over-drink!

Happy St. Patricks Day!
