I have no idea what that weird crochet thing is, but I say....have it removed! If you take that thing of this dress, you then have a BIG fashion winner! At that point, it's a vamped up little black dress.
I do think the designer had the right idea, but poor execution with the crochet thingy. So if you do buy this dress, hop on to Etsy and find a black flower that you can replace the crochet thing with. This way, you still have a unique detail on the dress, but it will be one you actually like.
