HALF-OFF HOTTIE: Flared Trend

I remember when I was in 6th and 7th grade, I tried the hippie trend. Flower in my hair, a piece of string across my head (I don't understand how this seemed normal to me) and of course, the famous wide leg pants from the 60's and 70's. No one caught on to my retro-style back in the 6th grade, but apparently wide leg jeans are back now!

I love wide leg jeans. They are comfortable and so chic. You can wear them with pumps, flats, or booties.

FASHION DEAL DIVA: It's In Your Jeans

You all know I love the feel and the cut of the levi's five-pocket jean leggings, but this particular pair has a stitching that has to be brought to your attention!  The light black wash with the white stitching makes for a clean-cut, but pretty, style of jeans.

Another great thing about jean leggings, if you're not already on board with the trend, is that they don't bunch up in your boots.  And since boots are in, this is something to think about.

FASHION DEAL DIVA: 2010: A Levi's Odyssey

Having misplaced by favorite 524 Levi's (I think they are somewhere at my parents house?), I needed a new pair of go-to jeans. On the recommendation of the Comfy Coquette, I decided to try the "new" levis.

For those of you unfamiliar with the recent Levis change, they have pretty much scrapped the style numbers for women (i.e. 524, etc.), and have opted to go for a model where there are three different types: slight curve, demi curve and bold curve. They use this crazy measuring tape to measure you...it doesn't involve numbers, so no worries there!

Walking into Levis that day, I knew that my 34 inch hips would undoubtedly register as a "bold curve," but I got measured anyway!

This is the tool they use to measure you. It takes three measurements: your hips, your waist, and that area in the middle of those two (how thorough!) The ratio of those sizes on this tool lets you know which "curve" category you fall into.

Even though they measure you, I cannot stress this enough. EVERY single pair is different. I have never, ever been a size 25 in a pair of jeans in my life, and yet that's what I am in the demi curve. But I'm a 26 in the bold. And there were some bolds I would have been a 27. And there were some demis I would have been a 26. You NEED to go into the store and try this stuff on! I must have tried on 25 pairs of jeans, no exaggeration!

When all was said and done, I found two amazing pairs of jeans! One bold curve for every day wear, and a demi curve for dressier occasions. What I like about the bold is that there is no waist space...it really does hug my curves! You might not like that feeling, but I think it's something you'll get used to (yes, it feels weird to have jeans that ACTUALLY fit!)

I've heard that the Gap's Authentic Jean is good for boys who are tall (above 5'10), who have no butt, but don't look good in skinny or slim. Does this describe your body type? HALF-OFF HOTTIE: Airport styles (don't let your style lag!)

Since I’m going out of the country this week and I’ve already started thinking about what to wear on and off the plane, I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to discuss airport fashions.

It appears that some time ago, someone decided that airports and airplanes are a style-free zone. I’m here to tell you that whoever said that was probably jet-lagged after a 20 hour flight, possibly intoxicated and/or not thinking straight. Obviously. You don't want to wear anything sexy to a jail (it's not exactly the time for that), but you need to look cute and a bit unassuming to make sure you get what you want!

This outfit says "ooh look how cute I am," while still saying that you are sharp as a tack and you mean business! That's a very hard balance to strike, and the outfit does it beautifully (and stylishly!)

The Best Jeans On The Planet

Oh my fashionistas...I am about to share with you my best kept fashion secret.

The best jeans I own, my favorite jeans, the ones I wear every day....are the Levi's 524 Super Low. Even more shocking? They are....Juniors. I know, I can't believe it myself. I'm 27, and the last time I wore Junior's Jeans was when I was 17? I think its story time.

I went into this boutique in Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn (I can't remember the name but I will find out next time I go shopping on Smith street) and I said I was in the market for new jeans. The store clerk handed me the Levis 524. When I saw odd-sized numbers, I IMMEDIATELY told her "oh sorry, I don't wear juniors." Then a look came over her face and she said "these are the best jeans I have ever owned. I'm wearing them right now. I promise, you will love them, too. They make everyone look amazing."

Sure enough...she was 100% right. I've never looked so good in a pair of jeans in my life, ever! They are amazing and comfortable and wonderful. I don't think they are "super low" either. They hit in a good place that's not too low! I just feel like a super model in these jeans; an invinceable super model fashionista!
