As much as I love gingham, I also understand the danger of wearing it: you could easily be confused for a picnic table.
Therefore, when I buy a gingham item, I try to make sure it's an accessory or an accent piece, and not the main event. In this sense, shoes, hair bows, and ribbon belts is where you should be wearing your gingham (not on, say, an a-line skirt.)
